To be totally honest with you, I struggled the minute I set my heart on motherhood. Nothing was what I expected. I was so excited to become a mom, but when it finally happened I was completely overwhelmed and unhappy. I was exhausted, in pain, and felt like I was a shadow of who I used to be. I remember phases during pregnancy and postpartum where it felt like I couldn't breathe. I even went to my doctor inquiring about lung problems only to learn that it was anxiety. If I, a therapist, couldn’t have recognized that, how could another woman?
Yes, I’m a therapist for moms. I’m a registered clinical counsellor, I have degrees in psychology, I’m trained in maternal mental health and I run my own practice.
